Bangalore Traffic Woes

Silk Board is a hot mess! Forget that there is traffic from 6+ lanes merging into 2.5 (Hello world class infrastructure!). Humans ARE genetically monkeys. Monkey see monkey do-It becomes easier for us to litter when we see someone else doing it. Pedestrians have made it a point to cross the road when the light is green. Ten do it and the rest follow as vehicles crawl through the junction, choking the worsening bottleneck.

If you look around you’ll find fundamentally stupid design everywhere. There is a bus stop on the left, just 10m before the infinitely busy Sarjapur-Bellandur signal. Buses stop there, unload/load passengers and then are also committed to turning right from the signal onto Sarjapur Road.

Patience is wearing thin. Even if all you can see is 4 rows of cars ahead of you, Auto Anna’s are committed to not wait their turn and instead drive through traffic on the wrong side. I love it when they see a cop at the intersection. Feels like justice.
